Folks who have the passion for process improvement face many challenges like being surrounded by people calling themselves “process oriented”, but who really don’t understand the persistence and dedication true process improvement requires.  Process improvement is a long and consistent journey and the process improvement professional is expected to maintain focus.  Many times, he / she may have to juggle temporary detours due to pressure from others but he/she needs to keep the longer journey in mind.  Sometimes this feels like a worthless pursuit as the domino effects can seriously derail the initiative.  All of this requires emotional intelligence.  Sara will touch on practical tips and techniques to sustain emotional intelligence during challenging and difficult times.
